Joy

Picture this: I’m probably writing this from my outdoor tub, or while sitting in a tree, or maybe while playing with random treasures I found in my grandfather’s old tool shed…

Here’s the Thing About Joy…

It doesn’t come with an instruction manual. And that’s exactly why I don’t have one either.

Remember when you were little and could spend hours just… playing? No goals. No outcomes. No five-step processes. Just pure, unfiltered imagination and joy?

Yeah. That’s what we’re after.

What I’m Not:

  • A traditional coach with structured programs
  • Someone who’ll give you a joy blueprint
  • A guru with all the answers
  • A retreat leader with minute-by-minute schedules

What I Am:

  • Just someone who accidentally discovered that getting lost can help you find yourself.
  • Who learned that my grandfather’s messy tool shed held more wisdom than any self-help book.
  • Who found out that sometimes, the best thing you can do is swing on a swing set or build a fort from old blankets.

How I Work:

Imagine having a friend who:

  • Sees the potential tree house in your messy garage
  • Knows that your grandmother’s old scarves could become a magical tent
  • Understands why you might need to finger paint at 3 PM on a Tuesday
  • Believes that playing in dirt is sometimes the answer

What Happens When We Play Together:

  • Maybe we’ll build something
  • Maybe we’ll take apart something
  • Maybe we’ll turn your living room into a cosmic adventure
  • Maybe we’ll just sit and dream up possibilities

(Who knows? That’s the beauty of it!)

Why This Works:

Because I learned it the hard way. Four years in rural Oklahoma taught me that:

  • Joy doesn’t need a schedule
  • Imagination doesn’t follow rules
  • The best adventures are unplanned
  • Everyone needs permission to play again

Want to Play?

  • If you’re thinking “but how exactly does this work?”… you’re asking the wrong question.
  • The right question is: “When was the last time I did something just because it brought me joy?”
  • If you can’t remember, let’s fix that.

How to Start:

Send me a message that starts with “I wonder…

  • I wonder if my backyard could become a fairy garden…
  • I wonder what treasures are hiding in my attic…
  • I wonder what would happen if…

And we’ll take it from there. No structure. No rules. Just imagination, possibility, and play.

Because here’s what I know for sure: The moment you try to put joy in a box, it stops being joy.

Let’s get curious together.

P.S. If you’re wondering if this is for you, ask your eight-year-old self. They know.

A Note About Time and Money:

I play with people for a few hours at a time. Sometimes more, sometimes less. We figure it out as we go. Payment feels more like a gift exchange than a transaction. We’ll work that out in a way that feels good for both of us.

Because remember: Friends give friends plants… and joy… and permission to play again.
